serial #430865, 44 W.C.F., 18" barrel with a mostly bright, very good bore with scattered soft pits in the grooves. The metal surfaces retain 97-98% professionally reapplied blue with a few light scattered scuffs and blemishes; the rear barrel band has toned to an even pewter patina and there are tiny pinprick pits here and there that have been filled in. The straight grip walnut carbine buttstock and forend rate very good to near excellent, as lightly refinished, with the exception of hairline crack on the bottom of the forend tip running back to the barrel band and a light scratch from barrel band removal on the left side. Carbine is outfitted with a gold bead front sight, ladder-style carbine rear sight and a Marbles Automatic Flexible Joint tang sight; the tang sight screws show minor slot damage. The original saddle ring is present in its staple. A nicely refinished 1892 Trapper that would be a great candidate for a budding Winchester collector. (157448-4) {C&R} (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $3162.50
