68. Winchester Model 1892 Trapper Carbine

serial #884684, 44 W.C.F., 14" barrel with a bright, very good to near excellent bore with the exception of a few soft pits. The barrel and full length magazine tube retain 97% reapplied blue with the only loss being two fingerprint-sized areas of pinprick pitting on the right side of the barrel, likely from contact with blood protein; both barrel bands have minor pinprick pitting as well. The frame and action retain 98% later-applied blue with a small amount of pinprick pitting on the right side of the lever and a faint wear mark on the frame from the saddle ring. The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent, as refinished, with lightly scattered dings and dents from the years. Carbine is sighted with standard open carbine-style sights. A letter from the BATFE is included exempting it from the provisions of the NFA. A nicely redone 92 trapper's carbine which likely saw time afield. Listed by serial number in the BATFE “Firearms Curios or Relics List” as exempt from the provisions of the NFA and classified as C&R.
