19. German P.08 S/42 Luger Pistol by Mauser

serial #9471l, 9mm, 4" barrel with a bright about excellent bore with only a hint of pinprick pitting along its length. The metal surfaces retain about 92-95% original blue, the loss due to fading on the straps and muzzle, and the rear of the frame on both sides has softened to a brown color and there is some pinprick pitting and oxidation on the top of the trigger on the right side. The toggle is marked with the "S/42" assembly code, the chamber is dated 1938 and all of the visible numbered parts are matching including the grooved firing pin; the serial number on the front frame flat is a different font than the rest of the parts, but the polish and bluing match and we feel that the frame was probably factory re-numbered. The checkered walnut grips rate very good with an overall flattening of the points and are stamp-numbered to the gun on their interior. Included is a single blue-bodied aluminum-based magazine numbered to the gun with a "+" and an "SE-63" acceptance stamp also stamped on the base which rates excellent with only minor fading of the blue finish. Overall an excellent S/42 coded P.08 that includes a hard to find matching magazine. (218050-78) _{C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1,265.00
