serial #11142, 28-30, 30" part round, part octagon barrel with a bright, excellent bore. The barrel is unmarked with the exception of the caliber stamping and retains about 98% of its matte blue finish. The frame, block, lever and Swiss style buttplate retain about 80% restored case color, the balance fading to a more pewter gray. The hammer and dual set triggers retain most of their commercial blue. The smooth walnut stocks rate excellent and have a few light handling marks. The forearm features a schnabel tip, the buttstock has a nicely carved cheekrest and the lever is equipped with a walnut knob insert as well. The stocks have some lovely figure that partner well with the case color patterns. The front sight dovetail is vacant, and there are a set of target blocks installed on the barrel. A very nice example of these finely made rifles, this one being in excellent condition. (47951-51) {MODERN} [Tweed Herendeen Collection] (1200/1800) SOLD FOR $1,380.00
