serial #26, .45 Caliber, 36" round barrel with a bright, excellent bore. The barrel features an octagon breech and retains about 99% of its original browned finish, the shotgun style butt has a similar finish with about 90% remaining. The locks and remaining metal parts are more a mottled brown that is mixing with pewter gray. The barrel has some fine foliate and geometric engraving around the muzzle, chamber and block. The top flat is marked "David Decker" along with "April 1991 No.26". The underside is stamped "K.R. BRESIEN / WARSAW, N.Y. 1983" AND "45 RIGBY". The lock and stock furniture are all engraved with loose foliate patterns. The checkered sporting stock rates excellent and features and ebony schnabel tip and capped pistolgrip. The stock is beautifully figured and has a cheekrest with accent line. The barrel is equipped with a combination front sight and has a custom express aperture sight mounted below the tang. A finely crafted piece by a master rifle builder who sadly left this world in 2014. Bresien was well known not only for his custom muzzleloader rifles but for restored vintage target rifles as well. A stellar example in excellent overall condition. (47147-48) {ANTIQUE} (1200/1800) SOLD FOR $2,185.00
