serial #6070t, 9mm, 4"barrel with a bright about excellent bore with perhaps a hint of frosting along its length. The metal surfaces retain about 92-95% original blue, the loss due to fading on the straps and muzzle and contact point wear. The straw parts have faded somewhat to a pewter patina on the left side with the right side parts showing the strongest remaining color. A strong pale fire temper blue still remains on the magazine release spring, sear spring and breech block pin. The toggle is marked DWM, the chamber is not dated and the few numbered parts are matching with the exception of the grooved firing pin which is not numbered. The right side of the receiver is stamped with an "E/(WaA66)" Police acceptance mark and the left side and breech block is stamped with a "crown/(N)" commercial proof mark. This pistol is equipped with a sear safety and remnants of a magazine safety which is no longer functional. The checkered walnut grips rate about very good with an overall flattening of the points with both grips showing some dings and impact marks and they are not numbered. Included is a single bright-bodied aluminum-based magazine numbered "6004", the number "1" and what looks like a "starburst/(H)". The rear of the magazine is also maker marked "Schmeisser/Haenel" and rates about excellent. The frontstrap is marked "L.M.189." for "Landjagerei Munster, Waffe Nr.189". Overall an interesting example of a Prussian State Police issued Luger. (218112-61) {C&R} [Marsell Collection] (1200/1600) SOLD FOR $1,092.50
