serial #5020890, 30-06, 24" National Match barrel with an excellent bore, marked with "P (star) A" near the front sight and by the right side of the chamber, and "NM" on the left side. The metal surfaces retain about 98-99% of an arsenal parkerized finish that has some light edge wear and fading along the bearing surfaces. The walnut stocks are likely later replacements but rate excellent overall with only a few light handling marks. The buttstock is marked only with "P.A." on the pistolgrip in place of the firing proof. The parts appear to be mostly Springfield Armory in origin, the operating rod is also "NM" marked by the handle and was made by Remington (RA). The sights are not National Match marked, the front sight is a later replacement as well. Overall this is a terrific example of the classic M1 Garand with some positive upgrades that are sure to boost its target potential. (48100-188) {C&R} [Walter "Walt" Rausch Collection] (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,495.00
