serial #41700, 45 ACP, 5" Colt barrel with a good plus bore that shows scattered oxidation and pitting but evident rifling. The metal surfaces of this 1913 vintage pistol retain 70% original blue with fading, freckling and silvering scattered throughout and heavier silvering on the front and backstrap. The checkered grips appear to be of Colt manufacture and rate about very good with scattered dings, abrasions, areas of flattening points and scratches. The front and backstrap are both marked "HQ/51" and the sights, recoil spring guide and Colt barrel appear to be later replacements but the hammer, slide stop and safety appear to be correct. No magazine is included with this pistol. A good entry-level early 1911 for the budding Colt collector. (208142-9) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
