serial #C140693, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with a bright about excellent bore which shows some very sparsely scattered very light frosting in the grooves. The metal surfaces retain about 95-97% original blue, the loss is due to wear to gray on the frontstrap, it would appear as though there were a bit of surface oxidation here at one point which was very lightly cleaned, the area now reacquiring a patina. There is some very light muzzle wear, a bit of high edge wear and the assorted extremely light, extremely sparsely scattered scratches here and there. The fully checkered walnut grips rate very good plus to near excellent showing only some very very light compression of some of the points. The barrel is completely unmarked but appears to be a Colt product, the slide is appropriately serial numbered to the gun and one very nice blued seven round magazine is included marked on its base plate "Colt/45 Auto.". A really very lovely example overall of a transitional-era 1911A1 which would be right at home in a purple hinge-top box. (38100-83) {C&R} [Walter "Walt" Rauch Collection] (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $2,300.00
